Licenses
J. Jones Construction and Welding, Inc is a California State Licensed Contractor: B-General Building Contractor/C60-Welding, License# 959628, and holds a Los Angeles City Fabrication License #FB00026 with certifications in High Strength Steel in unlimited thickness, Light Weight Steel, Aluminum, and Stainless Steel, as well as multiple AWS certifications. J. Jones has a full-time in-house CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) overseeing Compliance and Quality Assurance.
Jeff Jones, Owner
For more than 25 years, Owner Jeff Jones has built a solid reputation in the Construction and Welding industries. Jeff has owned and operated his own welding business since 1996 along with 20 years at Lexington Scenery & Props where he served in the roles of Metal Shop Manager and Senior Production Manager. Jeff has extensive experience in the Welding industry along with an AA in Metallurgy from the College of the Canyons in Valencia, CA. He has worked with clients such as Universal Studios, the Walt Disney Company, Steiner Brothers, Corporate Contractors, and many more.
Kip Katz, General Manager
Over the course of more than 30 years, Kip has been involved in all aspects of the residential, commercial, entertainment, and specialty construction industries, before becoming General Manager of J. Jones Construction and Welding, Inc. in 2021.
After attending Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland for Construction Management, he went on to become General Manager of Walter E. Lynch and Company in Washington DC and was an integral part of the project management team handling the construction and subsequent renovation of the Jack Kent Cooke Stadium for the Washington Redskins (Now The Commanders) in Landover, MD.
Kip returned to his native California in 2000 and for 20 years was the General Manager for Cinnabar California, Inc. a premier Design Build Fabrication Company producing Entertainment, Exhibit, & Specialty Projects.
